Timeline
2024
Three structuring committees were formed, and several meetings have been held with the following results:
- Bylaws Committee: Proposal for the bylaws.
- Treasury Committee: The necessary steps were taken to become part of a large project in an NSERC-NSF call.
- Communications Committee: Participation in the SEQ-ESC joint annual meeting with an abstract, banner, and brochure.
All committees produced a one-page document to support outreach to potential allies and financial partners.
November 2023
Second Meeting
The second meeting, held on November 16, 2023, had a very positive outcome, with nearly 50 people actively participating. You can see the presentation folder HERE.
The call for participation in the network’s structuring committees was also well received, with volunteers for all three committees. If you would like to join a committee, please add your name HERE.
Here are some of the data shared during the meeting; you can see all the responses HERE.
May 2023
First Meeting
An initial online meeting took place on May 29, 2023, with 23 participants. During this meeting, we had the opportunity to reflect on the specific objectives and activities of the network. A second meeting is scheduled for September 2023.
A networking activity is underway to facilitate relationships among members and promote connections and alliances. We invite you to check this FILE where you will find the template. If you are interested, please download the file, fill it out, and return it to us at the following email address (by submitting your file, you authorize us to use it for the network’s purposes). In the same folder, you will also find the presentation made during the first meeting.
March 2023
Portrait of Canadian Stakeholders
To assess interest in this initiative, a survey was conducted and sent to 180 contacts across Canada, with two reminders (the first sent on February 13, reminders on March 17 and April 12). By the closing date of April 30, 73 responses had been received.
Stakeholders in the Sector:
- Similar interests in academic and industrial settings.
- A strong interest in developing training content.
- The majority of respondents were from Quebec, which may be attributed to networking in sector development (collaboration among public, private, and academic sectors within the Edible Insect Value Chain Table).
